After Rainbow Six: Vegas, Siege, and many more, Ubisoft will finally add a new title from their FPS game series called Rainbow Six: Extraction. This new game from Ubisoft was originally announced in 2019 under the name Rainbow Six: Quarantine and was targeted for an early 2020 release. However, its fate is similar to Ultra Age, whose release was postponed until 2021.

Watching the trailer from Ubisoft, Rainbow Six Extraction tells about aliens called The Archaeans coming and evolving on earth. Then, the operators of Rainbow Six: Siege are assigned to eradicate the aliens that live and threaten life on earth.

In terms of gameplay, Rainbow Six Extraction has similarities to Rainbow Six: Siege. The difference is, Siege is based on competitive 5 versus 5 PvP, while Extraction carries a cooperative PvE game type.

Rainbow Six: Extraction can be played with up to 3 players. And the players will work together to complete the missions each round. The mission is to clear an area infested with aliens, finish off certain targets, or protect some areas on the map from alien attacks. At the end of each round, the player can choose to leave the playing area and end the game or continue the adventure further.

Just like in Rainbow Six: Siege, players can choose operators with different powers. From the gameplay leak, the playable operators in Rainbow Six: Extraction are identical to Rainbow Six: Siege, such as Ash, Doc, Pulse, and many more. But in Extraction, these operators are seen wearing bio-hazard clothing.

The aliens who will be the antagonist have varying levels of threat. Some aliens can shoot or hide in hiding places. And there are some aliens who are like the Hulk who are big and can destroy everything in front of them.

Rainbow Six: Extraction is coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S on September 16, 2021. And reportedly, this game will support cross-play between platforms. In 2021, Ubisoft also revealed a trailer for the game adaptation of the Avatar film. And plans to change its game business strategy to “High-End Free-To-Play”.
